SRV Records in Shared Website Hosting
Provided you have a shared website hosting account with our company and the DNS records for a domain name included in it are managed by our system, you are going to be able to set up any record that you need easily, including an SRV one. This is done through the user-friendly Hepsia Control Panel and as soon as you log in to your hosting account and go to the DNS Records section, you'll only need to fill a couple of boxes with the necessary data and your new SRV record will be active in several hours. You can input the service, protocol and the port number that you would like to use as well as the priority and the weight of the new record based on how you would like to set up your system or what the third-party provider needs. If necessary, you may also edit the TTL (Time To Live) value for the record, which reveals how long it will remain active after you edit or delete it. The default TTL value for the majority of records is 3600 seconds and you will be able to leave it unless you specifically need a different one.
SRV Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Because we understand how frustrating it may be to manage DNS records, we will present you with an easy-to-use DNS management tool as a part of our custom Hepsia Control Panel, so if you host your domain addresses in a semi-dedicated server account from us, you'll be able to set up an SRV record without complications. We also have a step-by-step guide, that'll make things even easier. Using an intuitive interface, you'll need to type in the details that the other company has provided you with - protocol, port number and service. Unless they've given you specific recommendations to change the priority and / or the weight values, you could leave those two options as they are and your new record will go live in a matter of minutes. The Time To Live option (TTL) could also be set to a custom value, but usually the default value of 3600 seconds is used for most records. This value shows the time the record will continue existing after it's changed or erased.
